An explanation of a few things related to Jake


Name:

Jake. That's literally the most Mary Sue name I can think of. It's a nice name (for a human of course), but for my character, I don't really think so. For the longest time I considered changing his name to Isaac, but I never did and I don't really know why.

Personality:

Ever since he first joined the kingdom, Jake was quiet, shy and easily aggravated. Once he became a teenager, being prince got to his head and Jake became over-confident, careless, and oblivious to A LOT of things. It took the right people, and the right amount of time for him to change. And thanks to that, Jake began to realize how other people may feel, and he started to care and look after them. He even started to slowly become insecure of how those may think of him. But of course, he hated being seen that way, so in embarrassment he tried to hide it. After months of going out of his way to prove he wasn't some caring, sappy person, Jake finally came to terms with himself. He realized that he truly did care about people, and that maybe being nice wasn't the worst thing of all. 

Appearance:

When Jake first arrived at the kingdom, his fur was jet black and he had sea green eyes. As he grew older, his fur began to change drastically. His paws, tail-tip, stomach and muzzle all began to turn a slight cream colour, later becoming pure white. Dark red markings sprung to life across his pelt, reminding those of fire. The cause was unknown, but he was reassured many times it was because of the magic in the kingdom, and that royals sometimes went through things like this. 

Extra: 

Jake's eye colour and the fire pattern covering his pelt are not meaningless.
Here's how:

- He was born on July 24th, meaning his zodiac sign is Leo.
Leo, as well as Aries and Sagittarius are all fire elements.
- Jake was forced out of his village, due to a extremely large fire.
He watched many of his family and friends perish, including his father and siblings.
- Jake used to be rather hotheaded. (Get it, hotheaded ;D. Yeah, I'm lame.)


I like to think that Jake's name wasn't always Jake, and he just told the adoption centre (/Peppy) that it was that because he thought it was cool.
